MALL OF ISTANBUL - Istanbul, Turkey

This strategically located 5.8 million sf unique mixed-use project includes prime retail, residential and office towers, a high-rise hotel, 16-screen/3,500 seat cinema, a hypermarket and DIY store. The project has one of the largest malls in Turkey, with 156,000 sqm of leasable area, 350 stores, gourmet center, MOiPark, the first specially designed theme park, traditional exterior arts street, and performance arts center.

Four residential towers and an office tower stand atop landscaped podiums, which connect to the green roof of the mall proper via a series of pedestrian sky bridges. A 300-room hotel tower is situated adjacent to the office. THe project has an underground Metro connection, and extensive basement parking serving all components.

The Mall has five atria, three large and two small, each with different concepts. Esthetically and architecturally, the Mall is inspired by the layers of culture, design, history, symbols and materials that have evolved over the centuries in this unique Eurasian metropolis. The retail galleries with retail shops and dining are organized around the central 10,000 Sqm themed indoors amusement park. With 83 escalators and 42 lifts, the project provides its visitors and residents with easy navigation and shopping opportunity with its vast aisles.

The exterior "Istiklar Street", a contemporary interpretation of one of Istanbul’s historic street, is a pedestrian trolley-serviced tree-lined street lined with shops and cafes that curves up six meters vertical, connecting the main arrivals plaza to the roof level’s dining and entertainment features.

Mall of Istanbul has been awarded numerous international design awards, including “The Best Mixed-Use Project” and “The Best Shopping Center Development Project” at European Real Estate Prizes 2011. It was also awarded with “The Projects of the Future High Achievement” prize at The Global RLI Awards 2011 organized by the world’s leading retail and entertainment sector magazine Retail & Leisure.
